Chrome Extension

The Canvas quiz Chrome extension

CheatGPT lives quietly in your browser and answers Canvas quizzes right on the page — no copy-paste, no second device, no trace in Canvas. Install it once and it's there whenever you open a quiz.

At a glance

A lightweight Chrome extension that activates only on Canvas quiz and assignment pages, reads the question on your screen, and gives you the answer in place — working in Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Opera.

What the extension does

  • Answers on the page. The question is read and answered where it sits — you never switch tabs or paste from another window.
  • Handles every common question type. Multiple choice, true/false, multi-select, and written answers. See the full list on Canvas quiz answers.
  • Stays invisible to Canvas. No activity-log signals — no tab-switch or focus-loss flags.
  • Sleeps when you're not testing. It does nothing until you open a Canvas quiz, then gets out of the way again.

How to install it

Two minutes, four steps:

  • Add CheatGPT to your browser and pin it to the toolbar so it's one click away.
  • Sign in with the account from your purchase.
  • Open a Canvas quiz. The extension wakes up automatically on quiz and assignment pages.
  • Read the answer in place and keep moving.

Works in your browser

CheatGPT runs on every Chromium-based browser, which covers almost everyone:

  • Google Chrome
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Brave
  • Opera

It also works on every Canvas instance, including your school's custom domain — not just standard Instructure-hosted pages.

What permissions it needs — and why

We keep this narrow on purpose, and we'd rather explain it than hide it:

Read the page on Canvas quiz URLs

That's how the extension sees the question it's answering. It activates on Canvas schoolwork pages — not your email, your banking, or your browsing history.

Talk to the CheatGPT servers

The question is sent to our AI to generate the answer that comes back to the page. That's the whole exchange.

What it doesn't do

No browsing-history tracking, no reading pages outside the schoolwork you're on, and no card details on our side — payment runs through Stripe.

Is it safe?

The extension runs locally in your browser and only activates on Canvas pages. Because it works inside the quiz page, it never generates the tab-switch or focus-loss events Canvas records — so a normal attempt looks normal. And if it isn't working for you, you're covered by a 7-day refund.

Popular on campus.

Does exactly what it says. Only thing I'd want is a few more keyboard shortcuts, but no complaints otherwise.

Ran it on a practice test first just to be safe and the logs were spotless. Been using it on the real ones since.

Was honestly skeptical, so I ran it on a throwaway practice quiz first. Logs looked totally normal, so I used it for my bio final the next week. Zero issues, didn't feel sketchy at all.

The saved-answers thing is clutch — retook a quiz for a better score and it auto-filled what I had before. Saved me a ton of time on my psych unit.

Genuinely didn't expect much for the price. Set it up before a closed-book econ quiz and it handled everything quietly in the background. First one of these I've used that actually felt safe.

Tried a couple of these before and always felt paranoid. This one's different — turned it on for my macro quiz and never thought about it again. Finally one that just stays out of the way.

Frequently asked questions

How do I install the CheatGPT extension?
Add CheatGPT to your browser, pin it to the toolbar, sign in, and open any Canvas quiz. The whole thing takes about two minutes — no configuration needed.
Which browsers does it work on?
Any Chromium-based browser: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Opera. If it runs Chrome extensions, it runs CheatGPT.
What permissions does the extension need?
It needs to read the page on Canvas quiz and assignment URLs so it can see the question, and to talk to our servers to fetch the answer. It does not track your browsing history or read pages outside the schoolwork you're on.
Is the CheatGPT extension safe?
Yes. It runs locally in your browser, activates only on Canvas pages, and your payment is handled by Stripe — we never see your card details. If it isn't working for you, there's a 7-day refund.
Can Canvas detect the extension?
Canvas can't see extensions installed in your browser. It only records behavior in the quiz log, and CheatGPT works inside the page without generating any tab-switch or focus-loss events.
How much does it cost?
Plans start at $9.99/month, with a one-time lifetime option. See pricing above — no commitment, cancel anytime.
